The Beginners Production Program is a six week guided course in drum and bass and dubstep production, now running in Canada. You get live weekly sessions, a small cohort, and feedback on your own music from working producers.
A track, start to finish
Every week builds on the last. You start with an empty project and finish with a mixed track you are happy to send out.
Setting up and getting sounds down
Your DAW template, gain staging, and how to get an idea out of your head and into a project without stalling.
Drums and groove
Building breaks that hit. Layering, processing, and swing that makes a pattern feel alive instead of stiff.
Bass design
Reeses, growls, and sub. How the low end is actually built in drum and bass and dubstep, and how to keep it clean.
Arrangement
Turning an eight bar loop into a full track. Intros, drops, breakdowns, and the tension that carries a listener through.
Mixing
Levels, EQ, compression, and reference tracks. Getting your mix to translate on club systems, headphones, and phone speakers.
Finishing and feedback
Mastering basics, exporting properly, and a full breakdown of your track from your tutor plus the rest of the cohort.
Included in the program
Everything runs online, so you can join from anywhere in Canada.
Weekly group sessions
Two hours a week with your tutor, screen sharing and building in real time. Sessions are recorded if you cannot make one.
Your music reviewed
Send in your project each week and get specific notes on what to fix, not vague encouragement.
The ClientClub community
A private group of producers going through the same thing, plus tutors dropping in between sessions.
Packs, presets, templates
The starting kit we use ourselves, so you are not hunting for samples while you should be writing.

Justin leads the Beginners Production Program in Canada. He runs the live sessions, reviews the work you send in, and keeps the cohort moving so nobody quietly falls behind.
Next Level Production was founded in Auckland by BRIGSY and inmotion, with releases on Viper, RAM, DeVice, and Riot. The Canadian program runs the same curriculum, on Canadian time zones.

Before you sign up
Do I need experience?
No. This is built for people who are opening a DAW for the first time or who have been stuck making loops for a while and want to actually finish something.
Which DAW do I need?
We teach in Ableton Live, but the ideas carry across to FL Studio, Logic, and Bitwig. Plenty of past students have followed along in their own DAW.
What if I miss a live session?
Every session is recorded and posted in the portal, so you can catch up and still send your work in for feedback that week.
How much time should I put in?
Two hours for the live session plus a few hours of your own each week. The more you send in, the more feedback you get back.
